ABOUT OUR COVER

"Timberdoodle" by George Shumate. Every fall season, Debbie and I get our three dogs and head for the back country to photograph the fall colors and scenes for me to paint. On this particular trip I was climbing down the creek bank for a better perspective of the old barn and the reflections in the water when I flushed this woodcock from its hiding place. "Wow!", I thought to myself, "What a painting this will be!" For more information on Mr. Shumate's work, contact George Shumate, 4522 Kirkwood Dr., Roanoke, VA 24018. 5540-774-7905. geoshumate@aol.com.
